Hi. I am hoping a Doctor can help direct me. Iunderstand that this is not medical advice, only direction. For over a month my ears are in pain. The pressure is terrible and causing both ears to really hurt. The right side is worse and seems to be swollen right under the ear lobe where my glands are. The pain is constant. I have a lump that I can feel in the back of my throat on the left side. If I zip up my coat it feels likes im choking or my coat is too tight. I do NOT have sore throat pain. I feel like I constantly need to clear my throat, cough or swallow. It doesnt work. It feels as though everything inside running under my jaw line is swollen and sore. I have had NO fever nor been sick. I am scheduled for a CAT Scan next week and my new GP didn't know. I am a smoker, 46 years old Any ideas?

My sister in law has Inflammatory Breast Cancer and my mother in law checked my blood sugar with her diabetic sugar checker thing. After she checked my sugar I found out she had previously used the same needle/lancet on my canerous sister in law all in the same day. I have been worried sick. Will I get cancer from this? is there anything I can do or should do as a precaution? Any medicine? any test? how long does cancer cells live outside the body on a needle? if I am at risk, how long can the cancer live in my body before it makes itself known? Is there enough research on this subject to be conclusive? Im sooo scared. Thanks for any advice/help. Kendra

I have a three year old son who has a lump about an 1.5 inches higher than where his adam apple is. He has had this for as long as I can recall. I brought this to his first ped's attention who said it was due to infection. He recently was sick and due to our move, I took him to a new pediatrician. I mentioned the lump to her and she suggest that we come back in one month to see if it has gone down. Should I wait a month to see have it checked out or should I look for a faster opinion. He has constantly had a runny nose, some high fevers with siezures, and he does have night sweats. Is this something I need to worry about or just wait a month to see the outcome?

For the last couple of days, there has been a good amount of bright red blood in my stool. My stool has been soft but not watery. It has been enough blood to tint the water pink. I feel no pain or discomfort either. I have no family history of cancer or gastrointestinal disease.

Hello again, now it's about 9 weeks since I took the flu shot and the swollen lymph nodes are still there under my arm (also these 1½ year old nodes under my jaw). They have NOT become any larger, they dont feel hard, but they're still there, about 1-1,5 cm under my arm and 0.5-1cm under the jaw. I poke them about once a week to see if they're still there. The nodes under the arm came up two days after the vaccine and they where tender then, not now though. And they're on the same side as the shot. Is it possible that these nodes will stay there forever? I don't feel sick, no nightsweats or anything like that but the nodes doesn't seem to change at all, not larger or smaller - pretty much the same size but a bit softer. Should I just forget about them since no other symptoms are there, or should I go to the hospital again? Thansk /Andreas from Sweden

Hey. For quite some time now, I have had what I thought to be a lump on my left upper eye lid. At first i thought it wa just a stye, so I did nothing about it, but when it wouldn't go away, I wenttomy local gp to get it checked out. My doctor could not feel anything, so he passes it off as my imagination, or something like that. A couple of weeks later, I was looking at myself in the mirror and I decided to take a look at the inside of my eye lid. This was when I discoved that the lump appeared to be a hole on the inside part of my eyelid. There was a hollowed out bit on the inside of my eyelid. The eye that has the lump/hole is also slightly lazy, but not noticably. I haven't been able to find any information on the Internet as to what this could be, and I am quite busy, so I don't really want to have to gp and see my gp o it's nothing serious, but I am a bit worried as it does not seem to be going away an is slightly irritating. I'm hoping you can help me! Thanks, steph

My father has been diagnosed with pancreas cancer in April 2009. Here lately he has been swelling alot. It is at the point where he has no belly button anymore or can barely be on his feet. His doctor said at the beginning when just his feet were swelling it was due to his water fluid wasn't circulating correctly??? I don't believe that. So I was seeing if you could give me an answer on why he is swelling so bad? I did read something about cetain cancer treatments can cause swelling. Is this swelling a sign that he is going to pass very soon or is there a way we can prevet it? Please help me ASAP. THANK YOU for your time and information. Have a nice day.

Hi there, I am a 14 year old who's very scared of lung disease and cancer. Maybe, every since I lost my grandfathers to it. I need to know this answer, to give my head peace. I have, in numerous occations burned plastic and inhaled its toxic smoke. As a kid, I did it with toys and such, for a few minutes maybe hours. About 8 times throughout my life. Recently I did it again, stupidly without thinking, as I burned ABS plastic to try and fix something. It was night, in my kitchen, I burned it for a while, maybe 30 mins to an hour. Before giving up. I never opened windows and slept in my living room. Would this greatly affect me and my family later on in life? If it does, I would like to know. I feel so nervous about it and it has been bothering me for sometime. I may have just endangered those around me. And with air pollution outside, smokers and emmisions, I think I may have a greater cancer risk.

Our son was born in 1980 and had an undescended testicle. When he was 2 years old he had surgery for this. The Dr. brought the testicle down and surgically placed it in the same sac as the descended testicle. This procedure was done in 1982 and he was 26 monthes old. I've been concerned his entire life and worried that he might be at higher risk for cancer. He has been with the same woman for 10 years and they never had children, but never checked to find out why. Could you please advise me of the risks and perhaps tell me what the procedure was called so I might have him look up and find out the risks and possible solutions? I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you ... Rita (a very concerned Mother).

Hello, So about 3 months ago i had bronchitis i used to smoke but when i had the bronchitis i stopped. After taking antibiotics and medicine i didn't feel better until sometime. Then, about 1 month and a half i got another bronchitis with hyperinflation and i took antibiotics as well. Not immediately but after sometime i felt better then i smoked some cigarettes but didnt get back to my usual 1 pack per day. About 2 weeks ago i was tired and i did a chest x-ray but it turned out normal. I stayed tired then i got better. Now i've been in pain for a week or so i have stomach pain sometimes pain under my chest sometimes back pain sometimes leg i dont know what's going on with me. After doing a blood test the results showed that i have high wbc not too much it should be maximum 12 mine is 12.8 while the neutrophil is very high it should be maximum 70 mine is 78 and the lymphocytes should be minimum 20 mine is 17 i'm gonna do some more tests but for now i need to know probably what it is cause i'm scared it might be cancer since the blood test is that way. Could it be cancer?

my current doctor says I have a brain cyst or a lot of swelling. Is that normal after brain Surgery 10 months ago? I had two operations to have a tumor removed(same location)at two different times 2 months apart. The surgeon did not install a shunt after either surgery - should that have been done to drain off any excessive fluid? i currently am having lots of swelling and headaches and i am wondering if this is normal after that many months. thank you. from AK in Utah

I have pain in lungs when yawning, fatigue, acute hoarseness, pain in my arm, and tightness in my chest. I had a MRI done and under findings it reads: lungs are clear, except for upper right lung, a spot 24 measured 6mm. My doctor did not discuss these findings with me. Could some please explain what this means? Thank you.

as result of headaches, i had recently a brain mri which was normal it was done without contrast and they told me that there was not any need to inject me with contrast as nothing suspicious was found. they use contrast if something suspicious is noted and they want to clarify it. mri without contrast cannot miss an abnomality can only be difficult to determine what the abdomality is without contrast. is it correct how small a tumor should be in order a mri without contrast to pick it up even as something suspicious.

How likely is it that my friend actually has Prostate Cancer? He is 30 years old and last night told me he has operable prostate cancer but only 6-12 months to live. I feel terrible because I responded to the news very poorly, but I'm ashamed to admit I didn't believe him. He was drunk and has lied before, though nothing close to this. Knowing what I know about prostate cancer, his story didn't stack up to me. He claims he was told in one phone message that he had operable cancer, 6-12 months to live, and that in the same message the doctor told him to call him back to discuss end of life care. His diagnosis story as far as he told it to me: He says he was diagnosed with Prostatitis a year ago. Went to a doctor more recently who said his prostate was "really soft", he ordered an MRI, and then took a blood sample, and then diagnosed. Here is how he described it to me in an instant message, verbatim: "my doctor in Denver diagnosed me with prostatitis last April, gave me some antibiotics. helped for awhile, until they ran out. I had a rectal examination. the prostate felt 'mushy' and 'large'. they took blood. they did an MRI among other things... one thing leads to another I go cancer."
