This is my first post and I was hoping to get some advice, this all started a couple of months back with a growth on my umbilicus so I want to my Consultant and he prescribed a course of anti-biotics to see if it was an infection but it did not clear up, so surgery was needed to remove this, before the surgery he got a CT scan done of the area first, a few things unrelated showed up on the scan as follows, enlarged prostate , spleen is at the upper limits of normal in size , head of the pancreas is slightly bulky and enlarged mesenteric nodes 1 x 0.8cm and 1.1 x 0.8cm, he gave me a physical check and also found nodes in my groin enlarged got a US scan done results were " node in the left groin which measures 1.9 x 0.9 cm. tiny node is noted in the right groin measuring 1 x 0.5 cm. No other lymphadenopathy is seen." as the nodes were small he would not do a biopsy so recommended a follow up CT scan in 2 months , at the moment I have a constant low fever / sweats and flushes I have also a bad itch on my inner thighs and groins areas, I feel and look very bloated and cannot really eat a big meal without feeling unwell afterwards, I know enlarged nodes can be caused by many things but what is concerning me is the other symptoms and the lymphadenopathy in two different areas, also seeing a gastro doc in 3 weeks for a possible endo and colonoscopy to check the discomfort in my stomach, just worried I suppose of the outcome and if my symptoms sound familiar to NHL and is the approach of wait and see a recommended one, thanks for for reading and would really appreciate any advice, I am 42yr old male. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello. I am a 35yr old. female. no children. For the past year and a half, I have had pain radiating deep in my pelvic area out toward my tailbone, buttcheeks and down my leg. The past few months the pain progression has spread. Now I feel it in my lower back, and sometimes shooting pain in my abdomen. I can feel irritation in my stomach causing diarherra. I only had abnormal vaginal bleeding one time. This past menstural cycle I woke up with cramping pain I have never felt in my life. I could not make a move until the pain subsided. I've been to the doctor, but was told to take a stool softner, x-ray of my abdomen the dr. said he saw some stool, but nothing else and to make sure drink plenty of water. The free clinic treated me for a yeast infection, but that was it. Would a CT-Scan be able to identify if any mass/tumor has formed inside my pelvic area. This pain feels deep and sitting has become a problem. Worried that I may have cancer and is spreading throughtout walls. By the way, my sister is currently battling stage 4 cervical cancer. Her symptoms was very heavy consistant bleeding. I am not experiencing any abnormal bleeding except one time this past April. None before then and None since then.

In association with microcalcifications are proliferations of ductal epithelium consistent with atypical duct epithelial hyperplasia. Immunohistochemical studiesare preformed with appropriate positive and negative controls. E-cadherin is strongly positive in the area in question. Immunohistochemical studies for CK-%, p63, and CK 8/18 reveal all duct epithelial aggregates to be invested by myoepithelium.

My mother is 74 years old and was diagnosed with Stage 1B lung cancer which was found by accident on a scan she had to follow-up on pneumonia. There is a tumor in each lung that the oncologist said most likely developed separately. My mother is refusing any treatment whatsoever - no biopsy, no surgery, no radiation/chemo pills, etc. How long does she have to live (on average) with no treatment and Stage 1B lung cancer? It's non-small cell.

Previously on Zocor and Lipitor. Cardilogist switched me to Vytorin - never had a problem with my platelets. For the past year they appears to be going down - previous reading 120,000. I cut down on my aspirin (2 per day) and it went up to 128,000 (Doctor wanted me on 3 per week so I went back on 3) - recently it went down to 98,000. Yesterday I was told to go completely off of them and get checked in 30 days. Could Vytorin be causing my platelets to go down or could the 3 aspirins per week be the culpit? I don't show any symptoms such as bleeding gums, etc, etc.

Staging which should be consider. Clinical staging or Pathalogy staging after surgery? While surgery if lympnodes removed is less than 12 what is the result. Our clinical staging is T3N1, underwent neoadjuvantchemoradiation using capecitabine and under went TME resection.Pathalogical staging ypT2N0M0. Did we need adjuvant chemotherapy now after operation now 4 months past? Capacitabine alone is enough? she had awefulvein because of chemotherapy.during surgery only 9 lympnodes was removed and all of them not involved, no metastatis.

There is a "Comment" section in the IDC breast cancer Pathology report saying: "This tumor exhibits extensive retraction artifact". Nothing has been done yet. It is just the first biopsy Pathology report. It also states that ER and PR are positive and HER-2/neu is (2+). I've read some publications online and it sounds very sceary! Is it a death sentience?!!!!!

Aloha, my 2 year old son was diagnosed with a blood disorder called histiocytosis LCH. We have read that the disease can be caused by something in the environment like mold (Is this true). We live in Hawaii in a very wet and moldy area and are wondering if we should move to prevent further outbreaks. When we started treatments he had it in the skin, liver and spleen, one spot on the bone and in the red blood and all lymph nodes. They took a biopsy of a lymph node on his neck to find the diagnosis. He has gone through 1 year of chemotherapy and will be finished with his treatments in September. I started feeling pain in my left knee while running. I frequently run appro. 12 miles a week, 2-3 miles every other day. I have since stopped running but now my knee joint feels loose, like it's no stable. The pain has since gone. What could this be?

I have an enlarged lymph node that has more than doubled in size in the last 6 months. I have a biopsy scheduled in less than a week and a half. I also have a very big lump in my lower to mid rib cage that i am told is probably a lipoma. I have had a ct scan to determine that it is a lymph node in the groin, but no one ever mentioned the lump in my chest area. I have been both unusually irritable and depressed with headaches several times a week. I do also experience night sweats several times a week as well as unexplained fever. Also numbness in arms and legs with the tingling sensation of pins and needles all of the time. When i stand up from a sitting or laying position i get very dizzy with loss of clear vision. I have worn eyeglasses for many years but recently my vision seems to have changed drastically, prior to the last month there has been little or no change to my prescription for my eyes. I have not lost much weight but have lost mass as my clothes no longer fit me. I do not have the same appetite i used to have. I do experience tenderness in the belly area and the lump in the rib area is sore sometimes but not always. I am starting to get very frustrated because the rib lump seems to grow rapidly and spread out but no-one is concerned. I was told that it is nothing to worry about and i feel like i am going crazy that even though i seem to have symptoms no-one seems that concerned. My internist is now concerned about the groin area but not any of the other symptoms or enlarged areas. Am I crazy or worried for nothing?

Did we need Adjuvant chemo therapy to prevent recurrence. What are the medicines sugessted. Only Capecitabine can do the job. or we need any thing. What tests to be done to find out remaining cancer cells if any? what is survival status with and without adjuvant chemotherapy. thanks

My mom has CML and she started using Tasigna a few months ago (she had amazing results). After 3 weeks, her blood counts all dropped, especially the platelets, which reached 16.000. She recovered in 3 weeks and restarted using Tasigna. 2 weeks later, they dropped again and the platelets have been low (lowest point 16.000 again) for 1 month and 10 days. She had a biopsy, there was nothing wrong with her bone marrow. My question: WHY aren't the platelets growing? How long does it take for them to grow? Is it normal to be low for 5 weeks because of an anti-cancer drug?? Did you experience such a long period of low platelets?

My GP recently did a CEA test with a result of 7.4 on the markers. I've been feeling very tired and nauseus but without vomiting. I drink vomifene tablets before eating. I have a big loss of appetite resulting in weight loss. I've been previously diagnosied with Barrett's syndrome and use Nexiam 40mg per day. Just want to find out if I need to be concerned of a malignancy of a sort.

In April 2007 my mom had 2 chest x-rays done. "Course linear opacities were noted in the right apex in keeping with areas a parenchymal scarring" was noted on the first x-ray, recommending a "Lordotic view may be of benefit". The second x-ray showed "Linear densities in the right upper lobe again noted" and a follow up was recommended in 3 to 6 months. This was finally done in March 2009. "The CT confirms the presence of a large airspace attenuation pulmonary lesion. It is a mass like in the right upper lobe". Is it possible that this lesion is the same - or more likely to be different, even though they are located in the same area? Thanks

I had vasculitis nearly a year ago, gangrene, numb feet and outer legs up to knees and still have shooting pains in feet, burning sensations and very sensitive skin. I can't go barefooted even on the lawn - every lump hurts and where shoes (sheepskin lined boots) touch my feet they get very sore after being on my feet for about half an hour. Feels like bad blisters that are being constantly rubbed. I'm still on 3mg prednisone and have dropped all pain relief except one oxynorm at night to stop pain long enough to get to sleep. I don't need pain relief info as I can resort to gabapentin or something if I need to - I'd rather stay drug free if possible but want to know how to best treat this condition to give the nerves all the help I can to hasten the healing.I am very active and swim,bike or go to the gym each day as well as getting about the farm alot. Should I be stimulating my feet by massaging, walking, wearing footwear even though it hurts etc? Does this stimulate healing or should I be doing the opposite and resting, nursing and keeping my feet as pain and stress free as possible?

I have recently found an area on my left testicle that is about the size of a large grain of rice. It also has the same harness as a dry grain of rice. The entire area surrounding the nodule is very tender to the touch. I also have suffered constant pain in my right testicle for the past 2 to 3 years. I am 7 years postvasectomy with no resulting complications. I do have a signifigant family history for cancer with both parents decesed for various forms. Sean

i had a cyst on the right side of my testicals a while ago but for a few months now i have a long hard lump.

For the past five weeks, I've had itchy skin, insomnia, night sweats, mild problems swallowing (not food or drink), swollen salivary glands under jaw line (no pain or tenderness), and a pea sized firm nodule in the center upper part of my throat. Blood tests show no infection and thyroid blood results were normal. I do not have fatigue. Doctor ordered a fine needle aspiration of the nodule and an MRI with contrast to see what we can see. Waiting for results now. Since I have been using Remicade for the past five years, I am at increased risk for lymphoma. While my symptoms could be many thinks that are not serious, what else should I be looking for as far as symptoms are concerned as well as being able to discuss this intelligently with my doctor? I have a CD of the MRI and I am obviously not a radiologist but I'd like to know what a grouping of small black dots in various areas mean in an MRI. I see them around my right side on the thyroid gland and in other areas as well. i am assuming that these are normal sized lymph nodes but do not know for sure. Also, what is the difference between white and black objects/areas in an MRI? Thank you in advance for your time.

I got a septum piercing about 10 weeks ago and it seems its infected, i clean it once a day with rock salt and water but it has a lump inside and hurts if i touch my nose, it also gets puss coming out of it and when i wake up its all crusty, i really dont want to take it out.
